  • Fielding WWF run - Earth Hour

Fri 15 Mar 2019 Eco Committee

On Monday 25th March we will be raising money for one of the three chosen charities that as a school we are supporting this year.   Our School Eco committee have been working hard to put together the fundraising event which will be as a school to run/walk the equivalent length of the Amazon rainforest which is 4,345 miles. (it is achievable! We previously achieved over 4370 miles during Sports relief.)

The money raised will support the charity WWF and the brilliant work they do as a charity.  The event will tie in with Earth hour, 2019 to raise awareness to our pupils around environmental issues such animal extinction and climate change that is threatening our planet.

Throughout the day each class has an opportunity to run/walk around our Fielding mile and complete an agreed distance as a class.

    • EYFS/KS1 – a marathon (26 miles) as class (works out as four laps per child)
    • KS2 – How ever many they can achieve within their time slot

(5 times around the track = 1 mile)

In addition each class will recognise Earth hour and spend an hour within the day not using any form of electricity.

    How can parents/carers support?

    • Talk to your child around the charity work of the WWF
    • Recognise Earth Hour as a family - Saturday 30th March (8.30pm - 9.30pm)
    • Help us to reach our target of 4,345 miles by running with your child the morning of the event (8.00am - 8.45am)
    • Sponsor your child for participating in the event by clicking on the link below:                  https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Fielding
    • Children donate £1 on the day to wear non-school uniform/sports wear.

We would like to say a big thank you in advance for supporting our event and promoting awareness of global issues to our pupils.

The children rescued a bucketful of frogspawn from the long-jump pit in their gardening lessons - now we're looking forward to watching the lifecycle of hundreds of frogs unfold. We've also got news of a big seed bonanza, paddling chickens, and the tale of the last lonely tadpole. It's all here.

  • Easter Holiday Club, Bookings Open

    Mon 11 Mar 2019

With the Easter Holiday’s fast approaching we have some great news for parents. You can take comfort in knowing your child may be cared for by our amazing, caring play workers here at Fielding holiday club.

As usual we have prepared an egg-normous range of interesting activities and trips to keep your children happy, engaged and excited. Reflecting on our previous popular and successful trips, you will be pleased to know that the Hounslow Urban Farm and Northala Fields will again be part of the plan. The Urban farm provides the perfect setting for children to interact with different types of animals from mini beasts to larger animals including cattle and boa constrictors. Professional and friendly staff will be present to educate and support the children throughout their journey.

We have also arranged a visit to the Questors Theatre, where we will be treated to a behind the scenes tour of the theatre, plus afterwards the children will take part in a drama workshop run by the incredibly, experienced theatre actors. The fun continues for our buddying fire fighters, a morning at West Ealing fire station will certainly have their hearts pumping! Children will have the opportunity to engage in an interactive home safety workshop, then climb aboard and explore a working fire engine, they may and even have the chance to do a bit of splashing whilst operating the fire hose. Closer to home, we have planned plenty of activities too, including: scrummy cooking, team games, exploring fielding forest along with exciting art and craft activities.

Bookings are open and the programme is available on the website. Please remember trip days always book up very quickly, so don’t delay and book today!

Thinking of the summer holidays?  Dates for the remainder of the year are in the Childcare booklet, this is available on the school website to help you plan ahead.

Please be reminded, children need to bring a healthy packed lunch to see them through the day, this should include items that do not need to be stored in the fridge or heated.
