  • A huge thank you - WWF/Earth hour run

Mon 25 Mar 2019 Eco Committee
A huge thank you to all pupils, staff and parents for their efforts with our WWF/Earth hour run today.

The total raised on our just giving page is currently £548 and that does not include the monies raised through non school uniform donations.  When the money is counted we will announce the grand total raised.  If you still would like to donate please see the link below:

Collectively we ran 10, 302 laps which is 2060 miles which is a huge achievement as a school - not quite the length of the Amazon rainforest but nearly 80 marathons ran or the distance from London to Turkey!

Today was an important day in supporting our pupils' understanding of how under threat our planet is and how it takes days like this and the attitudes shown today to turn things around and make such an important difference.

  • Nursery Easter Holiday Club

    Thu 21 Mar 2019

Fielding Nursery holiday club are planning a mixture of free play and planned activities, including lots of messy play for the children to get their hands on; shaving foam, cornflour, and flour will be explored, the children love to investigate these materials using a variety of tools.

We have a very special visitor coming into school on Tuesday 16th April at 10.30, Naomi is from the Blue Cross and will be bringing along ‘Dooby’ her pet puppet to share with the children. The children will learn about what pets need and how we can look after them, we are looking forwards to welcoming Naomi and Dooby to Fielding Nursery.

The children will have opportunities to make Easter biscuits, Easter cakes, Pizza and Fruit Skewers, cooking and baking are always popular with the children. The children will also enjoy an Easter hat parade and egg hunts, so a small treat will be the order of the day. We will be practicing our cutting skills with cucumber and lettuce which we will feed to the chickens when we visit.

Our popular outdoor play will include Fielding’s Forest, Pirate Ship and Reception Playground. The children really enjoy visiting these different play spaces, they find them challenging, interesting and a lot of fun.  Please make sure that your child is dressed in old clothes, bringing their coat to nursery as it can get windy on the school field too.

Please provide a wholesome healthy packed lunch and snack for tea, Fielding School is ‘nut free’ so do make sure that any food sent in with your child does not contain any form of nuts or sesame, please check all labels for ‘may contain nuts/traces of nuts’ ‘made in a factory which also uses nuts/peanuts’ any food with either or similar statements on labels will be sent home, please ensure you check all labels including seeded bread etc. The children will have access to fresh fruit throughout the day.

We are open five weeks across the summer holidays, these booking are open if you want to book early to secure your place. Please find the summer dates here

  • Summer Term Specialist Clubs, Season for Change

    Thu 21 Mar 2019

The summer term programme can be viewed here for browsing only, bookings will open on the following dates and times.

    KS1 Monday 25th March 2019 – 8.00pm

    KS2 Wednesday 27th March 2019 – 8.00pm

The summer term has some great seasonal additions for the children to enjoy, with the prospect of brighter and warmer days we will be making the best use of the school playing fields, bringing back Golf, Forest school and Cricket clubs. The school field permits a much broader offer of sporting activities in the summer months.Evaluation of the Annual Parents Survey proved variety continues to be a key strength of specialist clubs, to meet this demand we must be creative with the space available and sometimes clubs that are less popular may need to be withdrawn to provide the flexibility. With this in mind fencing club is on a break for the summer term, however there are three new exciting clubs on offer.

    NFL (National Football League)

    Avenue Street Dance

    Basketball

Once again waiting lists have been used to increase availability of some of our most popular clubs. Drama for KS1 has moved back into the sports hall to enable an increase in capacity. Children's places in Ballet and Judo will automatically rollover to next term to enable progression, remaining places will be allocated through booking on the evening.Throughout the term all clubs are carefully monitored for quality, with the enjoyment of children being an essential ingredient.

Please make sure cashbooks are cleared prior to booking, and remember, choose carefully with your child before launch evening as once clubs are booked there is no cancellation or refund, all club bookings must be paid for.
