  • EMS Zoom Instrumental Lessons Attendance

    Thu 14 Jan 2021 Maria Neil-Smith

The remote learning plan for EMS instrumental tuition is currently in place. 162 Zoom instrumental lessons are scheduled to take place each week to allow Fielding pupils to continue to make progress on their instruments during the school closure. If your child is currently enrolled in instrumental tuition you would have submitted a Microsoft form agreeing to our remote learning plan (in our terms and conditions).

Please ensure you do not miss your weekly EMS instrumental Zoom lesson. No refunds or make up lessons will be given for missed lessons as stated in our terms and conditions. Click here to view the terms and conditions. Click here to view up to date timetables on our website so please make a note of your child’s lesson time and set up reminders. The Zoom link and lesson time should remain the same each week unless you hear otherwise. Zoom links will have been sent to you via email by the morning of your child’s lesson. If you are not receiving Zoom links you must email music@fielding.ealing.sch.uk as soon as possible so we can rectify this. We will continue to facilitate Zoom lessons for Keyworker pupils in school, however if a bubble in school is closed, parents will need to access the zoom link at home.

When timetabling we have tried to be as accommodating as possible, however it is virtually impossible for us to avoid every clash with feedback meetings or parent commitments. We cannot give refunds, or allow cancellations as the school has booked the teacher and is paying for their time. If we are not consistent with this policy, instrumental tuition would become financially unviable for us to run. It is your decision whether you choose to partake or not but the fees are still payable in full.

Many thanks for your ongoing support.

  • Specialist Club Update

Wed 13 Jan 2021 Karen Esprit

Due to the Covid pandemic there has been unavoidable disruption to childcare and specialist clubs. To minimise further complications for families and the school:

    • Spring term specialist clubs will automatically roll over to start at the beginning of the summer term same day and times apply
    • No need for families to re-book the, same clubs will be available for those children already booked and paid.
    • If the booking has not been paid for the space will be made available through general release before the clubs start. More information to follow.

If your children are currently in school and need wrap-around childcare to replace Spring term clubs please book childcare sessions through MCAS. These will be charged at the usual rate.

For children not currently at school with childcare sessions booked, cancellations can be made through MCAS.

This scheme is open to children who:

    • don’t have access to a fixed broadband connection
    • cannot afford the additional data needed to access educational resources or social care services
    • have access to a mobile device that uses a participating network

    • mobile network
    • contract type,  pay monthly or pay as you go

The data you will get depends on your mobile network. For example, some networks can’t offer data to Pay-as-you-go (PAYG) customers.

Network providers taking part in this scheme are:

    • EE
    • Sky Mobile
    • Smarty
    • Tesco Mobile
    • Three
    • Virgin Mobile
    •  O2
    • Vodafone

Any additional  data you receive can be used when tethering a mobile phone to another device for internet access eg a laptop.

If you think you are eligible for this offer please complete this online form by Monday 18th January at 9am.

We need to collect these details to arrange the increase in data with the relevant mobile network.
