    Fri 21 Sep 2018

Termly Safeguarding assembly for children in Years 1-6

During assemblies on Monday 24th September we will be talking to the children about how to keep themselves safe. We will help the children understand that it is their right to be happy and safe and to encourage the understanding that any problem or worry that they may have is legitimate, and to share their worries – big or small – with their trusted adult; at home, at school, or with ChildLine.

The assemblies will be led by Mr Dunmall and Mrs Haines and the content delivered in a sensitive and age appropriate way.

During the assembly will we aim to give children:

    • An understanding of different forms of abuse, including bullying, and an ability to recognise the signs of harm or abuse
    • Knowledge of how to protect themselves from all forms of abuse
    • An awareness of how to get help and sources of help, including ChildLine.

Click on the link below to see the content of Monday’s assembly, you may wish to look at this in advance, in case your child has any questions.

  • Celebrating the European Day of Languages at Fielding - 26th September 2018

    Tue 18 Sep 2018 S.Mahvelati

The European Day of Languages is a celebration of linguistic diversity across Europe. At Fielding, we will be marking this important day by celebrating the French language which we learn together here at school. On Wednesday 26th September , the whole school will have the opportunity to enjoy a French-themed lunch in the school lunch hall, the menu for which has been designed and voted for by our Year 5 pupils. This will include some French lunchtime favourites: steak haché, ratatouille, fromage and ile flottante. Our Year 5s made their selection based on some exciting exchanges made between ourselves and our French partners at Ombrosa International School last year, where we wanted to find out if 'school lunches in France were the same as ours'. You can see some of our exchange work by clicking here. We hope the children will enjoy their lunch and be reminded of the incredible progress they have made with their language learning during their time at Fielding Primary School.

  • Complaints procedure

Mon 17 Sep 2018 Peter Dunmall

The Department for Education (DfE) requires all schools to publish their own complaints procedure.  We hope that you rarely feel the need to complain about the quality of our work.  However, if needed, our complaints procedure is published in the Our School, Policies section of the school website.

Some parents have used social media to raise concerns, sometimes making references to other pupils.  School staff have no input in informal parent social media groups and we do not monitor these channels.  Concerns are best directed to school staff.

The complaints procedure places greatest emphasis on resolving any concern or complaint informally and quickly.
