A ‘Mystery Reader’ in Nursery and Reception will visit each class to share one of their favourite stories or poems with the children. Who could it be I wonder?

It may be from our recommended reading lists or a recommendation that your child wants to share with others’. If they donate a book to school, they will be given a special label on which to write the reason they love the book, it will be stuck inside the cover for future readers to see who donated the book to our school and why. Books can be donated any day of Book Week. Thank you.

Over 130 parents got involved in the annual PTFA Quiz Night last week.  21 teams battled it out over ten different rounds which saw videos of some Fielding pupils acting out scenes from famous films of the last 40 years.  At the end of the night, and after many years of trying, the Michael Winner Murder Mystery Club finally came out on top.  Thank you to all those who got involved and helped raise over £2,600.  Thank you also to Sargeants London for supporting this event.

  • 1st Place to Year 5 & 6 Girls Football team after Round 2 Fixtures

Wed 07 Feb 2024 Natasha Pasha

On Monday 5th February, our Year 5 & 6 Girls Performance Football team played their second round of fixtures for the Featherstone Girls Football League.

During our first round we played 5 games we won 3, and drew 2. Although, we didn't lose any games we simply didn't score enough goals to secure a high position. Unfortunately, this meant after the first round we had finished 6th place. This wasn't the result we were hoping for particularly as the team were dominating other schools in the Ealing Girls Cup and have gone through the quarter finals.

The format for this league is 7-aside games that last 10 minutes with no half time. The girls came prepared and set pieces had been put in place to score early goals.

As you can see from the score lines the girls definitely had their shooting boots on with a total of 27 goals scored with all three strikers scoring hattricks. Qamara (5S) scored two hattricks.

We still have the final round to go on the 2nd June but currently we are 1st place in the league.

We are incredibly proud of all the progress the girls are making and looking forward to the London Games on 19th March.

  • No Outsiders, Book 4. What will your child be learning about after the half-term break?

    Wed 07 Feb 2024

Preparing children for life in modern Britain

This week marks a year since we introduced our No Outsiders programme in school.

During the first couple of weeks after the half-term break, children will be thinking about No Outsiders and how everyone is welcome in our school. During assemblies myself and Mr Dunmall will be using the No Outsiders assembly resources to talk about disabilities. We will link this to our core value of resilience.

In class the children will be listening to and discussing the 4th book (spring 2) in the series for their year group.

Our No Outsiders books will be available in the key-stage 2 library for you to view, during parent consultation meetings on 19th February.

Here is the list of books, with links, for the first half of spring term:

The 'No Outsiders' programme educates children about diversity within our communities and addresses issues such as sexism, ageism, race and different types of families.

It is taught to each year group through the use of age-appropriate books. Through these beautiful picture books, the children explore the concepts of equality, diversity, acceptance of differences and of the right of someone to have an opinion different to their own. .

    More information

How does No Outsiders fit into the curriculum?

The No Outsiders lessons fit alongside many of the things we already teach in school. They align with our core values of respect, resilience, reflection and empathy. They will also form a part of our relationships lessons, which are part of our RSHE lessons and our Monday assemblies.

  • 5-1 victory in the PEAL Shield

Mon 05 Feb 2024 Mr Francis

On Friday 2nd February, the Boys Performance team hosted Mount Carmel in the final group game of the PEAL Shield.

We made a fast start to the game with Matt (6S) scoring after only a few minutes had been played. With the early goal scored, we knew we had the advantage and did not need to rush when we had possession. With good build up play out from the back, we searched for the second goal and after a cross in from the right-hand side, the ball fell to Matt (6S), who shifted it onto his right foot, slotting it into the bottom left hand corner to make it 2-0 and grabbing his second of the game with a excellent finish. We made a few substitutions, and they had an almost instant impact as Tem (6F) played an accurate through ball to Oscar (6P) who was able to remain calm and score with a composed finish. Mount Carmel started to push more players forward and after a ball over the top, they managed to score, making it 3-1.

After half time, we knew the game was far from over and needed to start in the same manner as we did in the first half. It was not long into the half before we managed to score again with Tem (6F) scoring after a fantastic dribble and assist from Yaqoob (6S). The boys were now eager to improve the goal difference and were persistent in their pressing and chance creation and the hard work paid off as Tem (6F) managed to grab his second of the game to make the score 5-1. With the game almost over, it was now about controlling the game to ensure we came away with all 3 points and near the dying minutes of the game, Mount Carmel had a late break on the counter but Charlie (6H) was there to make a great save to see the game out.

    Final Score: 5 - 1

    Goal Scorers:

    Matt (6S) x 2, Oscar (6P), Tem (6F) x 2

    Well done to.. Charlie (6H), Matt (6S), Yaqoob (6S), Sev (6S), Rory (5S), Zain (6P), Oscar (6P), Daniel (6F), Tem (6F), Ahmed (6F)
