Keep up to date with all the news happening in the school at the moment. Articles are added during the week. Parents are encouraged to check regularly. Our weekly bulletin, emailed directly to parents, summarises content for the week.
We look forward to welcoming parents and carers to our next drop-in on Thursday, 6th October, 9:15-10:15am.
We will be focusing on strategies to support your child's emotional regulation, through the programmes we are using in school: The Colour Monster and Zones of Regulation.
We will be joined by Preeti Parhar, speech and language and communication therapist, alongside Mrs Reehal, our Learning Mentor.
Ordering individual meals for each pupil in advance takes effect on Monday 26th September. Make sure you have ordered your child's meals in advance. We are making these changes because we need to:
Please order your child's individual meals now using the website, www.parents.feedinghungryminds.co.uk
Parents already use steps 1,2 & 3 to manage your child's school meal account. Steps 4 & 5 are new.

Please help us to better match the food we serve to the meals that pupils want to eat so that we reduce food waste.
At the moment, we estimate the amount of food we need to cook based on previous weeks. We do not want to run out of food during a meal service so too much food gets cooked. Ordering in advance will help us better match the amount of food cooked to the meals we serve.
For Reception, year 1 & 2 pupils, family style service and free school meals for all continues. There is no need to order meals in advance using this system.
Nursery lunch and afternoon tea continues, unchanged. There is no need to order meals in advance using this system.
During morning drop-off and after-school collection, children should not play on any playground equipment. Bikes and scooters must be walked. These simple rules are to keep everyone safe.
The school site is busy with many parents and pupils walking to and from school. Children riding bikes or scooters creates too much of a bump or crash risk. Cycling or scootering to and from school is encouraged. Bikes and scooters must be walked as soon as they are on our site.
Every pupil has a fair chance to use our playground equipment during the week. Sessions are timetabled so equipment and zones do not get too crowded.
Every once in a while things at home can get tough, for many of us this is temporary and we work through the tough times with the support of family and friends. For some, more help is needed. This is where 'Family Lives' can help. They offer a range of services including confidential online chat & helpline, online advice around a whole series of issues and for those who have children under 5, an online parenting course.
Online parenting courses are a great way to get advice in the comfort of your own home and at times to suit you. The Parents Together Programme is a free online parenting course which you work through by yourself.
In Ealing, Family Lives also provide a Family Coaching Service. They listen to the challenges that families face might be facing and help to find solutions to build stronger relationships between parents and their children. They can help with:

As the nights draw in and the days get colder, our value for October seems fitting, resilience. Our four core values are:
As we move into October children will be focusing in class time and during assemblies on the value of resilience. To help children's understanding we will focus on what actions do and do not show the value.
Take a look at our values area of the website for more details on our Values-based Education and information about the value of resilience.
School meal debt is rising because some parents are not paying before pupils eat a school meal. This is unusual for Fielding parents and pupils.
School meal debt is high in many other schools. It has never been a problem here. We need your help because:
If school meals are not paid in advance or there is money owing then we will contact parents by phone and email to check, help and offer support over the next few weeks.
If debts continue, we will then stop serving pupils a school meal. We will contact you on the day and ask you to provide a packed lunch for your child.
Avoid school meal debts by:
The PTFA holds its AGM on Tuesday 4 October in the main school hall at 8.30pm. Sadly we have a number of committee members standing down including the Chair, Treasurer and one co-secretary following a solid five year stint and our Vice-Chair is also standing down.
It is really important that fresh faces join the committee to help ensure the PTFA's ongoing commitments to the school are maintained. Adding new members will also spread the workload across the team ensuring it becomes less reliant on a small group.
If you are able to spare a small amount of time each week or even each month, then we'd love to hear from you. Happily, the outgoing team will still be on hand to mentor/advise on best practice should anyone need advice if you are new to volunteering.
If you would like to discuss any of the roles or how to get involved, please email FieldingPTFA@gmail.com or come along to the AGM on 4 October where wine and soft drinks will also be available to celebrate our past 12 months successes but also welcome new parents in a face-to-face environment.
Due to popular demand, the PTFA will be running a secondhand uniform sale on Saturday 1 October in the Main Hall between 10am - 1pm. Although we have pretty good stocks of secondhand uniforms for KS2 aged children, we really could do with some branded uniform items for Nursery, Reception and Y1 aged pupils. We'll be collecting secondhand uniforms at the Coombe Road entrance from Monday 26 September through to Friday 30 September. Please do not drop any uniform off at the Wyndham Road entrance this time around.
The Movie Afternoon is back after a 2.5 year absence due to Covid. Taking place on Sunday 16 October, the PTFA will be showing two movies on the big screens during the afternoon. One will be shown in the Main Hall while a second will be shown in the Sports Hall. Tickets will go on sale next week so please keep an eye out in your Class WhatsApp group, ClassList and Facebook when we'll announce the films that will be shown. Our shortlight is includes Lightyear, DC League of Super Pets, Sing 2, Encanto, Sonic 2 and Minions - the Rise of the Gru! We might even look at a Sing-a-long for Encanto!
On Monday 3rd October we will be taking part in the 'Big Anti-Bullying Assembly'. This will be shown by many schools across the country.
The assembly has been produced in partnership with The Diana Award. They have also produced a useful guide for parents, on how to talk about bullying with your child. Click on the link below for more information.
This year's anti-bullying week takes place nationally between 14-18th November. Throughout the year we teach pupils about anti- bullying through our values based education, in our assemblies and RSHE lessons. During anti-bullying week there will be an even greater focus on this subject. Find out more by clicking on the link below.
